Takidanifudomyooji Temple

The principal image, Fudo Myo-o, along with attendant deities Kongara Doji and Seitaka Doji, are revered as sacred images said to have been carved by the great monk Kukai — bowing three times for every cut of the chisel — and all three are designated National Important Cultural Properties. Long a site for prayer, the main hall performs a fire ritual (goma) daily. Widely and affectionately called 'Fudo-san of Takidani,' it draws many visitors seeking prosperity in business, good fortune, and protection from misfortune. The long-held tradition of 'loach releasing' is also well known here.
