Ibarakijinja Shrine

This shrine enshrines Susanoo-no-Mikoto as its principal deity, its inner shrine said to have been founded over 1,200 years ago. Long revered as the guardian deity of Ibaraki and Nakajo villages, it's noted for the June ring-passing ritual and the July summer festival's portable shrine procession. Deep within the grounds lie the remains of a well called 'Kuroi's Pure Water,' once a generous source of water, said to have been used by Toyotomi Hideyoshi at a tea gathering.
