Yukibijutsukan Museum of Art

A museum housing the tea ceremony utensils, kaiseki tableware, and artworks amassed over 50 years by Yuki Teiichi, founder of the Japanese restaurant Kitcho. Opened in 1987 inside a building on the former site of Kitcho's Hirano branch, just off Midosuji on Hirano-cho. Its collection includes 13 Important Cultural Properties — such as the 'Ishiyama-gire' and 'Takano-gire' calligraphy fragments, 'Daito Kokushi' ink writing, the 'Kasuganomiya Mandala,' the Chinese tea caddy 'Joo Nasubi,' the Shino tea bowl named 'Hirosawa,' and the Oribe square-handled bowl — alongside fine works spanning mainly the Nara through Edo periods. Themed exhibitions are held three to four times a year.
