Takemikumarijinja Shrine
📍 OsakaThe guardian shrine of sacred Mount Kongo, long revered as protector deity of 18 surrounding villages and clan god of the Kusunoki family. Originally a water deity shrine, legend says Kusunoki Masashige moved and rebuilt it here in 1334 on Emperor Go-Daigo's orders. Its main hall — three cypress-bark-roofed halls connected by a corridor, a style found nowhere else in Japan — is a nationally designated Important Cultural Property.
