Tajihayahimejinja Shrine

Tajihayahimejinja Shrine

📍 Osaka

Adjacent to Kozen Park, famous for its plum blossoms, this shrine was founded around 580 and enshrines the goddess Tajihayahime-no-Mikoto, believed to bless safe childbirth, good matches, and warding off misfortune. Its 1541 main hall, intricately carved and painted with dragons, clouds, waves, and mantises, is a nationally designated Important Cultural Property that anticipated the ornate Azuchi-Momoyama architectural style.

📸 Best photo spotShoot straight through the torii gate to capture the shrine's signature red color and sense of depth.
