Nihonminkashurakuhakubutsukan Museum

Japan's first open-air museum, tucked in a corner of Toyonaka City's Hattori Ryokuchi Park. On about 36,000㎡ of grounds, 12 traditional Japanese houses representing regions from Iwate Prefecture's 'Nanbu Magariya' in the north to Kagoshima Prefecture's 'Amami Oshima Takakura' in the south have been relocated and restored for display. All were built during the Edo period (17th–19th centuries) and were lived in until as late as the 1950s, letting visitors sense the wisdom of everyday life born from each region's unique climate and customs.
