Enryuji Temple
📍 KyotoEnryuji is said to have been founded in the Nara period by the monk Gyoki and revived around the turn of the eleventh century by the priest Kokei. Its principal image is the largest jorokubutsu in the Tango region — a beautiful figure whose calm expression, full body and softly falling drapery carry the Jocho style directly. Beyond it, standing figures of Fudo Myoo and Bishamonten are also designated Important Cultural Properties.
