Founded in 1885, tied to the former battlefield and gravesite of its enshrined deity, Lord Kitabatake Akiie. At its founding, Akiie's father, Lord Kitabatake Chikafusa — a central figure of the Southern Court — was enshrined here as well. On July 22, the day of the main summer festival, a portable shrine procession travels to Lord Kitabatake Akiie's grave in Kitabatake Park. A Nagoshi no Harae purification ritual, praying to safely weather the summer, is also held.
