Geochang Ginkgo Road

At the entrance to Uidong Village in Hangnyeong, Geochang County, a short stretch of road is lined with ginkgo trees. There's no particular landmark or facility here — this spot is known purely for one thing: autumn foliage, specifically the golden ginkgo leaves.

When the leaves turn, both the branches and the ground beneath turn a matching gold, and that image spread after being featured in a local tourism photo contest. It suits travelers looking for a quiet, low-key autumn walk rather than a big flashy attraction.

A few things worth knowing before you go. Because ginkgo color change is tightly seasonal, peak color (usually late October to early November) is brief, and if you miss the window, it can look like an ordinary country road the rest of the year. It's worth searching for that year's expected peak-foliage dates before visiting.

Also, there's no parking here — the village access road is narrow with no dedicated lot, so you'll need to park nearby and walk in. Public transit access is limited too, so a car or rental is the practical way to get here, with parking at the edge of the village and a short walk from there.
