Yangsan City Museum

Yangsan City Museum opened in April 2013 to preserve and pass on the history and culture of the Yangsan region, foster civic historical awareness, and serve as a multi-purpose cultural space.

The permanent exhibition is split into a history hall covering Yangsan's history and culture, and a tomb-culture hall introducing the region's burial mound traditions. The children's museum, designed around hands-on play, lets kids pick up Yangsan's history and culture naturally — a nice stop for families.

What stands out most, though, is the outdoor exhibit: chamber tombs No. 5, 9, and 13, excavated from the Bukjeong-dong site (683 Bukjeong-dong), have been relocated and displayed exactly as they appeared when unearthed, giving a tangible sense of tomb structure that indoor displays alone can't quite convey.

The local history archive, Huicheongheon, lets visitors browse regional historical materials — a useful resource for anyone wanting to dig deeper into Yangsan's past.

Open 09:00-18:00 (last entry 17:00), closed Mondays, January 1, and Lunar New Year/Chuseok. Free admission.
