Baenaegol Valley

Tucked away in the foothills of Mt. Yeongchuk, Baenaegol Village has a name with a gentle story behind it — it's said to be named for the many wild pear trees ("bae") growing along its clear stream.

Located upstream from Miryang Dam, the area is known for eco-friendly, pesticide-free farming — Job's tears, cassia seed, and perilla grow here without chemicals, alongside apples, vegetables, and jujubes. The valley's stream carries genuinely first-grade-clean water, and because the rugged terrain long kept casual visitors away, the valley has preserved a truly pristine, almost primeval scenery.

Hidden throughout the valley are spots like Paraeso Falls, Tongdogol, and Cheolguso — even a short walk reveals a new view. Sunsets here are said to be spectacular, so it's worth allowing plenty of time for your visit.

The valley also serves as a starting point for hikes into the Yeongnam Alps, making it a good spot to combine hiking with a leisurely stream-side walk.
