Saint Isidore Ranch

Saint Isidore Ranch began in 1954, when the Irish priest Patrick James McGlinchey (Korean name Im Pi-je) came to the Hallim area of Jeju and opened a livestock bank to help the local poor.

In 1961, a formal central training ranch opened here, offering livestock education alongside pig, sheep, beef cattle, and dairy farming operations. Today the ranch mainly raises racehorses and dairy cattle, producing prizewinning racehorses and organic milk, with proceeds funding a range of welfare projects.

The scenery here — Teshik-el style round-arched barn buildings distinctive to Jeju ranches, set against wide, open pastureland — is striking, and the ranch has become widely known on social media as a popular photo spot.
