Najeong is a well carrying the legend that Park Hyeokgeose, the founder of Silla, was born here.
Alongside a commemorative stone honoring Park Hyeokgeose, remains survive of an octagonal building believed to be a royal shrine site, along with a well site, enclosure walls, auxiliary building sites, and drainage channels. The octagonal building site, each side measuring 8m and surrounded by a square wall, is believed to have been a royal shrine of Silla — suggesting Najeong itself may have served as a shrine for rituals honoring Park Hyeokgeose. Both the Samguk Sagi and Samguk Yusa contain related records, making this a place where you can see the physical site behind Silla's founding myth.
