Yuminoki Castle survives as a mountain fortress site emblematic of the medieval wars, on a 50-metre hill jutting from the plain toward Aso Bay. It was here that the final fighting took place as the Isshiki clan of Tango fell, and it stands as one of the representative mountain castles of Sengoku-period Tango.
