Sanjusangendo Temple
📍 KyotoJapan's longest wooden building (about 120m) houses an overwhelming sight: 1,001 life-sized statues of the thousand-armed Kannon standing in rows. The name refers to the 33 bays between its pillars. It's also known for the annual archery contest held here each January, and visitors remove their shoes to walk the wooden hall — worth taking your time in.
