Kyototetsudohakubutsukan Museum

The Kyoto Railway Museum opened in April 2016 as a place to feel the course of Japan's modernisation through the history of its railways. It works from the idea of a railway culture centre that moves with the community around it. Fifty-three actual vehicles are on display, and visitors can ride carriages pulled by a genuine steam locomotive, try driving simulators, and watch the model railway diorama put through its paces. The aim is a place of learning anyone can enjoy — by looking, touching and doing.
