Koishidanijinja Shrine

Koishidanijinja Shrine

📍 Kyoto

On the bank of the Kizu River, Koishidani Shrine enshrines a favoured consort of Emperor Go-Daigo. It has long been venerated as a deity who grants children and who wards off women's illnesses, and its spring and autumn festivals draw people from a considerable distance. Close by the grounds is a pair of waterfalls known as the male fall and the female fall.

📸 Best photo spotShoot straight through the torii gate to capture the shrine's signature red color and sense of depth.
