Joganji Temple
📍 KyotoJoganji is a Shingon temple long known as a place to pray against stroke. Its origins are unclear, but the main hall, gate and Miroku hall were rebuilt in 1691. The gate and the Miroku hall in particular are finely constructed, and their carving is regarded as first-rate work. Among the temple's treasures are a Miroku Bosatsu 90.3 centimetres high, built up from joined blocks of wood, along with the Four Heavenly Kings, a Yakushi Nyorai, the Nikko and Gakko bodhisattvas and the Twelve Divine Generals.
