Hokoji Temple
📍 KyotoNext to Toyokuni Shrine, Hokoji is known for its great bell, inscribed with characters wishing peace to the nation and prosperity to lord and subject. In 1614 those characters were read as having split apart the name of Ieyasu — a pretext that helped set off the winter campaign at Osaka.
