Jeju April 3 Peace Park

Jeju April 3 Peace Park

📍 Jeju

Jeju April 3 Peace Park is a memorial park dedicated to peace and human rights, built to remember and honor the civilian victims and harrowing experiences of the Jeju April 3 Incident, and to open a future of reconciliation and coexistence.

The park was created as part of a community-wide reparation effort tied to the Jeju April 3 Incident. Starting with the enactment of the April 3 Special Act in 2000, the project moved through land acquisition, master planning research, a design competition, construction, and the creation of exhibits to reach its current form.

Through its memorial tower, memorial tablet hall, and the April 3 Peace Memorial Hall, visitors can encounter records and testimonies from that era. It's not a conventional tourist attraction, but a place to remember and reflect on a painful chapter of Jeju's modern history.

ℹ️ Travel infoCheck the memorial hall's hours and closed days before visiting. Free. The outdoor park is open at all times.
📸 Best photo spotSince this is a place of remembrance, please keep photos simple — the memorial tower and exhibition hall — rather than posed personal shots.
