Suwolbong Peak & Chagwi Coast

Suwolbong Peak & Chagwi Coast

📍 Jeju

Suwolbong is a 77m-high viewing peak in western Jeju.

Its sheer, seemingly hand-carved coastal cliffs extend 2km to the east — a stretch known locally as "Eongal." Springs bubble up in several spots along the cliff face, and the area is also widely known for its "Nokgomul" spring water.

Below Suwolbong, a geology trail follows the coastline, where volcanic sediment layers stacked along the cliffs are the area's signature sight. With significant geological value, this is a place where you can see, with your own eyes, the process behind the formation of Jeju, a volcanic island.

ℹ️ Travel infoOpen at all times (outdoor). Free. In western Jeju, requires a car ride.
📸 Best photo spotAn angle showing the volcanic sediment layers along the sheer coastal cliffs clearly is recommended. Try different angles while walking the geology trail.
