Mureungdowon Arboretum

Mureungdowon Arboretum

📍 Bucheon

Mureungdowon Arboretum ("Peach Blossom Utopia Arboretum") opened in October 2012 inside Bucheon Natural Ecology Park, spanning 210,000㎡ and holding 1,334 species of trees and plants.

True to its name — a reference to the classic East Asian legend of a hidden utopian valley reached through a peach-blossom stream — the arboretum tells a story from its entrance. Visitors pass a duck pond, columnar rock cliffs, and an artificial waterfall meant to "wash away the worries of the real world" before stepping into the garden proper.

Inside, a topiary garden shaped into flower-decked deer and giraffes leads to a rock garden blooming from early spring through late autumn, a stream where irises and other aquatic plants grow, an iris garden that peaks each June with varieties gathered from Korea and abroad, and a perennial garden home to some 600 species including wild chives and balloon flowers.

ℹ️ Travel infoAbout a 10-minute walk from Kkachiul Station (Subway Line 7), Exit 1. Closed Mondays; adult admission 1,000 won (free for ages 65+).
