Tennozanyumehotarukoen Park

📍 Kyoto

Yume Hotaru Park lies beneath the elevated Kyoto Second Outer Ring Road. Two bridge girders divide it into three zones — a history plaza, a children's plaza and a multi-purpose plaza — with combination play equipment and a music stage. From the park you look out at Tennozan, the hill whose name became a byword in Japanese for the decisive contest, and a stone monument records that this was the ground of the Battle of Yamazaki, where Akechi Mitsuhide and Hashiba Hideyoshi fought for control of the country. You end up standing in a playground looking at that hill.

📸 Best photo spotOpen lawns or spots near the pond make good backdrops — even better during flowering season.
