Shoryuji Temple
📍 KyotoShoryuji was originally called Seiryuji, but took its present name — victorious dragon — after a year of severe drought and famine in which prayers here overcame the dragon deity and rain fell. It is the 14th site of the Rakusai Kannon pilgrimage and the 3rd of the Kinki Ten Kannon pilgrimage against senility. Its cut-paper goshuin seals and amulets are very popular. On the first Sunday of each month, the Hotei festival day, the temple hosts a market.
