Shizukajinja Shrine
📍 KyotoShizuka Shrine stands on a hill overlooking the Iso district and enshrines Shizuka Gozen, beloved of Minamoto no Yoshitsune. Shizuka went to the capital and became a shirabyoshi dancer, where Yoshitsune saw and fell for her; in her later years, tradition holds, she returned to live out her life in her home village. A wooden figure of her by an unknown hand is enshrined here.
