Senkyoji, also known as the Bridge Temple, is one of the forty-nine temples the monk Gyoki established across the five home provinces. The seated stone Jizo in its grounds dates from the Kamakura period and stands about 4.58 metres high — the largest fully carved stone Buddha in Japan. Its five-ringed pagoda is a national Important Cultural Property.
