Saijoji Temple

📍 Kyoto

Saijoji is said to have been founded in 1551 by the priest Yudo. In its grounds are enshrined an Amida Nyorai with two seated attendants, a triad designated an Important Cultural Property. The main hall is also unusually fine for this part of Tanba, and is said to have been built between the end of the Edo period and the Meiji era.

📸 Best photo spotVisit early morning or late afternoon when it's less crowded, for a clearer shot of the gate and grounds.
