Sagajinja Shrine

📍 Kyoto

Saga Shrine was founded in 573, in the Asuka period, and enshrines Sagamizuo and Sagamizume, deities of sake brewing. The main hall, rebuilt in 1585 and consisting of paired left and right structures, is an Important Cultural Property, elegantly carved with oak leaves and owls.

📸 Best photo spotShoot straight through the torii gate to capture the shrine's signature red color and sense of depth.
