Ryokoji Temple

📍 Kyoto

Ryokoji was founded in 1452 by Hosokawa Katsumoto. It is the family temple of the Naito, lords of Yagi castle, and is counted among the three dragon temples of Kyoto alongside Ryoanji and Ryotanji. Its seven main halls are complete, and the belfry is old — said to date from the middle of the 18th century.

📸 Best photo spotVisit early morning or late afternoon when it's less crowded, for a clearer shot of the gate and grounds.
