Otanikofunkoen Park

📍 Kyoto

The mound at Otani Kofun Park is a scallop-shaped variant of the keyhole form, with a short front section. In the stone coffin of the central burial, female skeletal remains were found — one of only five such cases recorded nationally. The grave goods included a mirror, jewels and a sword, the three items known as the imperial regalia.

📸 Best photo spotStep back a bit so the whole mound fits in frame — that best conveys its scale.
