Oishi Shrine enshrines Oishi Yoshio — Kuranosuke — leader of the forty-seven Ako retainers made famous by the play Kanadehon Chushingura. It was founded in 1935. The annual festival falls on 14 April and the memorial rite for the retainers on 14 December. A treasure hall adjoins the shrine.
