Ogurajinja Shrine

Ogurajinja Shrine

📍 Kyoto

Ogura Shrine appears in the Engishiki register compiled in the Heian period and is one of the oldest shrines in the Otokuni district. At the Battle of Yamazaki in June 1582, Hashiba Hideyoshi is said to have sent his retainer Katagiri Yusaku here to pray for victory. A spring festival is held every May.
