Mozumekurumazukakofun

Mozume Kurumazuka Kofun is a keyhole-shaped burial mound of the mid-6th century, about 46 metres long with a rear circular mound 9 metres high and a horizontal stone chamber inside; it has been laid out as a green park. Where the earlier Kofun-period mounds on the Muko hills were built in a regular north-south alignment, this one follows a ridge running off the hill and lies roughly east to west. The stone chamber has been restored to its original state, and the burial chamber where the coffin was placed is lit, so you can look inside. It forms part of the Otokuni Kofun Group historic site.
