Motoisegekutoyokedaijinja Shrine

📍 Kyoto

This shrine is the origin of the Outer Shrine at Ise in Mie Prefecture. The deity is a god of agriculture who came down originally to the Tango region; in the 22nd year of Emperor Yuryaku, following a divine dream, the deity was brought to Yamadahara at Ise, and that is held to be the founding of the Outer Shrine. Toyoke Daijinja here is said to be the shrine it came from.
