Kasagiyama Nature Park takes in Mount Kasagi, designated both a national historic site and a place of scenic beauty, along with the gorge of the Kizu River running below it. Scattered across the summit are historic sites connected with Emperor Go-Daigo and boulders carved with Buddhist images, so the hiking route doubles as a walk through a half-hidden history in whatever season you come. The Kizu gorge below, known as the Iga Line, is scenic in its own right. Within the park is a separate maple garden, lit up every night through November — from the 1st to the 30th, 5pm to 9pm.
