Kyotofuritsudomotoinshobijutsukan Museum of Art

📍 Kyoto

On the Kinukake road between the World Heritage sites of Kinkakuji and Ryoanji, this museum is impossible to miss. It shows the work of Domoto Insho, a Japanese-style painter known for the range of his artistic activity, and mounts special exhibitions of modern and contemporary Japanese painting. The collection runs to over 2,300 items across Japanese painting, oils and craft. The building itself, designed by Insho, counts as one of his works.

📸 Best photo spotPlease avoid flash photography indoors to protect the exhibits — outdoor exhibit areas, if any, are easier to shoot.
