Kyotobunkahakubutsukan Museum

📍 Kyoto

The Museum of Kyoto is a general cultural facility built to make the city's history and culture legible. Alongside a varied programme of special exhibitions, the main galleries cover Kyoto's culture and history and show art, craft and other fine objects connected with the city, rotated to suit each theme. The film theatre on the third floor screens classic and notable films from the prefecture's collection. On the ground floor, the Roji shops reconstruct the street frontage of a late-Edo Kyoto townhouse, and you can eat and shop there. The annex — the former Bank of Japan Kyoto branch — is an Important Cultural Property, and its hall hosts exhibitions and concerts.

📸 Best photo spotPlease avoid flash photography indoors to protect the exhibits — outdoor exhibit areas, if any, are easier to shoot.
