Konzoji Temple

📍 Kyoto

Konzoji, which appears in the Konjaku Monogatari, was founded in the Nara period. It fell into ruin for a time before the mother of Tokugawa Tsunayoshi endowed its rebuilding. The grounds, cut into the slope of Mount Oshio, hold the main hall and a goma hall among others, and the view from the lookout is as good as it gets.

📸 Best photo spotVisit early morning or late afternoon when it's less crowded, for a clearer shot of the gate and grounds.
