Kawasakidaishi Temple

At Kasaharaji, the Kyoto branch temple of Kawasaki Daishi, women can undertake a one-day nun's training. Dates are arranged individually, and the day runs from 10am to 3:30pm: changing into white robes, purifying the feet with incense, receiving the habit and making a rosary, then meditation and worship, lunch, a dharma talk and sutra recitation, and a goma fire rite for protection, before receiving a certificate of completion and a dharma name. Capacity is around 20, by reservation.
