Kanabiki Falls, chosen as one of Japan's hundred finest waterfalls, comes down from Mount Kanabiki at the edge of town. When the water is high it is a genuine spectacle, several strands breaking into spray that carries into the trees on every side and cools the whole place. Unusually, there is no plunge pool, so you can walk right up to the foot of the fall.
