The garden at Joseiji was made in the late Edo period, composed of a pond with an island and arrangements of stone, set against the hill behind. In autumn the maples reflected in the water are lovely, and it stands as the representative garden of late Edo Tango. It is a Tangible Cultural Property designated by Kyoto Prefecture.
