Imurabijutsukan Museum of Art

📍 Kyoto

The Imura Museum shows, in its basement gallery, some forty pieces from its collection by Imaemon X, Kakiemon XI and their successors — the potters who worked to revive Arita ware in the Meiji era. The ground-floor gallery displays and sells Western antiques including Art Nouveau glass and ceramics by Gallé, Daum, Meissen and Baccarat, alongside Hizen porcelain from the Edo period to the present day. Buying upstairs and looking downstairs, the whole thing takes two flights of steps.

📸 Best photo spotPlease avoid flash photography indoors to protect the exhibits — outdoor exhibit areas, if any, are easier to shoot.
