Imakumanokannonji Temple

Imakumanokannonji Temple

📍 Kyoto

Imakumano Kannonji is said to have begun when Kobo Daishi enshrined an eleven-headed Kannon here. It is known as the fifteenth site of the Saigoku pilgrimage, but devotion to Fudo Myoo and Bishamonten runs alongside, and the temple has long been venerated by ordinary people as the Kannon of the head, prayed to against headaches. Visitors come seeking relief from headache, protection against senility, the granting of wisdom and general good fortune.

📸 Best photo spotVisit early morning or late afternoon when it's less crowded, for a clearer shot of the gate and grounds.
