The Hanazono University Historical Museum sits on the university campus. It opens the material accumulated through the university's own survey and research work not only to those within the institution but to the general public, and operates as the centrepiece of the university's outward-facing role. The permanent galleries are organised by field: archaeology, folklore, art, Zen culture, history and classical texts. Special exhibitions are mounted twice a year, in spring and autumn; contact the museum for dates and details.
