The Gekkeikan Okura Sake Museum is a museum of sake itself — the history of Fushimi, the culture of the drink, and the spirit of the brewery that drove sake-making forward here. After the tour you can taste a range of sake assembled by season. Along the branch of the Uji River that once served as Fushimi Castle's outer moat, brewery warehouses and old buildings stand in a row, and the whole scene is Fushimi as a brewing town. It is one of the hundred views of Kyoto, and takes about an hour.
