Daichiji Temple
📍 KyotoDaichiji's seated Monju Bosatsu and standing eleven-headed Kannon are both Important Cultural Properties. The Monju is said to have been carved in the Kamakura period from a surviving pillar of the Izumi Great Bridge — built by the monk Gyoki in the Nara period and later swept away. The hall raised to enshrine it, called the Temple of the Bridge Pillar, was the forerunner of the present Daichiji.
