Chasomyojinsha Shrine

📍 Kyoto

Nagatani Soen, who developed and spread the aosei sencha method that underlies green tea as it is drunk today, was enshrined in 1954 at Daijingu Shrine as the deity of tea. The shrine adjoins the house where he was born, which preserves the remains of his drying furnace. Major festivals are held in spring and autumn.

📸 Best photo spotShoot straight through the torii gate to capture the shrine's signature red color and sense of depth.
