Busan Songdo Sky Cable Car

Songdo Beach opened in 1913 as Korea's first public beach. A cable car once crossed above it starting in 1966, but age eventually forced its removal — and 29 years later, in 2017, it was reborn as "Busan Air Cruise."

It runs about 1.6km one-way, roughly 10 minutes, from Songnim Park station in the east to Amnam Park station in the west, entirely over open water. Two cabin types are available: the glass-floored Crystal Cabin, which shows the waves directly beneath your feet, costs more than the standard cabin.

That price is worth flagging honestly — a round-trip pass runs about 30,000 won for adults, Crystal Cabin costs more on top of that, and the premium option (which includes a meal) can run over 200,000 won per person. Some visitors feel the fare is steep for the length of the ride.

Service can be suspended in bad weather, so check the real-time status on the official site before visiting, and lines get long on weekends in peak season — an early-morning visit helps.

The arrival station at Amnam Park connects directly into Songdo Sky Park, making it easy to pair the cable car and the observation park into one outing.

Hours vary by season (Jan–Feb & Dec: 9am–8pm; Mar–Jun & Sep–Nov: 9am–9pm; Jul–Aug: 9am–10pm), open year-round except in severe weather. Free parking for 500 cars.
