Mt. Sineosan

📍 Gimhae

Mt. Sineosan, in Sambang-dong, Gimhae, Gyeongsangnam-do, offers hikers the pleasure of viewing downtown Gimhae from its ridge as they climb.

A suspension bridge between its jagged cliffs adds extra enjoyment to the hike. The Nakdong River winds around to the northeast, while the wide Gimhae plain spreads out to the south.

Gujibong, the hill traditionally said to be where Kim Suro, founding king of the Garak kingdom, descended from heaven, sits at the western end of this mountain range. Walking the main ridge trail west from the summit means literally walking above the land steeped in Gaya's founding myth. Mountain temples like Eunhasa also sit on its slopes, making it easy to combine hiking with a temple visit.
