Birthplace of President Roh Moo-hyun

Bongha Village sits about 4.5km east of Jinyeong-eup, at the foot of Bongwhasan mountain — a typical farming community known for its Jinyoung sweet persimmons and rice paddies. Within it stands the birthplace of the late President Roh Moo-hyun.

The house is a simple thatched-roof structure: the main building holds two rooms and a kitchen, while the smaller adjoining building has a shed and an old-style outhouse. Roh lived here until age eight, and the house was restored in September 2009 — kept as close to its original form as possible, while incorporating some practical touches in keeping with his wish that it also serve as a resting spot for visitors.

Rather than an impressive building, it's a quiet place that simply shows the everyday scenery of one person's childhood. It pairs well with a walk through the rest of Bongha Village.
